Whether you're in the entertainment industry, or work in finance and need something simple for LinkedIn, a big goal of mine in studio sessions is to put you in touch with your creative side.

I tell all of my clients that whether you love having your photo taken or not, no one will see your photos but us, until you choose to share. This ensures that you have space to explore and enjoy the process that is having your photos taken; it takes the body a second to warm up in front of the camera, and I want you to be able to enjoy that process, too. Switching it up a bit!

It’s finally here!

I go to some beautiful places for my job; it feels like a never-ending adventure. That’s why I’m launching The Print Store, after all - because why wouldn’t you want to bring the adventure home?

We’re kicking off with some Costa Rica and Montana selects before some even bigger adventures start in 2025 👀

If you’re finding yourself timid when taking photos - as a photographer or as a model - there are three things that I think are most important to hold on to.

1.) The relationship between a subject and a photographer is one of the more intimate relationships out there. And that’s so neat to get to experience! The more space that can be held for that concept, the more space there is to explore during your sessions.

2.) I remind every person that I photograph that no one will ever see these photos, besides the two of us, unless they choose to share them.

We’re living, breathing beings, and the process of having your picture taken should emulate that… even if the product is a still capture. I like to tell people that if you’re in front of the camera, your jobs are to remember to breathe and to flow through your movements. The reminder that the images are private allows you to settle into your body to what feels natural, trusting the process and settling into a rhythm with your photographer.

3.) The most important thing you can do as a growing photographer - especially in the environments that aren’t your favorite to shoot in - is to set an intention for yourself.

Maybe it’s a word, maybe it’s a phrase. Maybe it’s something very technical to do with photography, maybe it’s just emotional.

You can throw me into a 12 hour wedding coverage day without batting an eye, but an hour in the studio can really psych me out. Every time I walk in, I set an intention. It can be as simple as “today I’m trying something new with lighting.” Intentions force you out of your head, and make you focus on what you get to achieve, as opposed to what you’re worried about.

I like to encourage clients to set an intention, too. Collaboration is about being on the same page, even if that same page is just forward momentum!

(Wedding days are long. There are so many shots to get that it will never feel stagnant, but of course there’s a fun mental game of getting new types of photos you haven’t before.

One of my favorite things to do is to ask people I love what sticks out to them for inspiration online when I’m setting goals for my galleries. @masonmariehoward found a photo the night before one of my weddings that expanded past a *flat lay* and incorporated more dimension, shadow, and natural light… and boom - inspiration for the first photo in this carousel.

Creating is not a solo sport! There’s more room for beauty when you listen to other people’s opinions and look at the world from their point of view for a second.)

I learn so much from couples I get to work with, and Bekah and Nate just have joy abounding… I don’t think I saw them stop smiling at one another the whole time we were together. When an engagement shoot is that positive, I get giddy thinking about what the wedding day will be like. See y’all in 11 months!!)

Congratulations to the Aviles! It’s one of my favorite things in the world to get to walk through the engagement season so intimately with couples that turn into friends. PSA: I’ve been doing photography full-time for (almost) a year!

Freelancing has been such a whirlwind. I have incredible mentors, and gigs that I couldn’t have dreamed up if I tried. Even though photography has always been a hobby, I never would have expected I’d start to feel so at-home in myself behind a camera… but since when are the best things in life expected?

TLDR thinking a lot about life lately, so listen up/remember: You only get one of these… Tell people you love them! Call your mom! Try something new! Dye your hair (@qgc.hair is my hero and had me in her chair 8 hours to make sure I was happy)! Get your pictures done even if it scares you (@jamesjinimages I’m so thankful I got to work with you)! Travel! Take your vitamins! It’s not going to be perfect and you’ll still cry sometimes , but just don’t take breath in your lungs for granted.

My heart is bursting. Congratulations to the @paradebway team!

It takes a village to put up a Broadway show and I’m so thankful to get to be a part of it, especially on a Tony award-winning revival (*sobs*). I’m simply besides myself that the end of my first NYC theater season wrapped up the way it did! On to 2023-2024! I love my office. Baby’s first Tony’s✅
