What DO i look for in a wedding photographer?
Whether you’re in the early stages of searching for a wedding photographer or ready to make your decision, it’s important to remember that this is the person you’ll spend the most time with on your wedding day (besides your soon-to-be spouse). Because of this, choosing someone you genuinely connect with and enjoy talking to—who calms your nerves and earns your trust—is just as important as loving their work.
Between tagging along with her wedding-coordinator mom, working at venues throughout high school and college, and working professionally as a wedding photographer, Laurel has a unique and well-rounded view of what goes into weddings. While no two weddings are ever the same—and there’s always something new— she and her team bring the experience needed to anticipate changes before they become stressors. While LHP loves the artistry and intention that goes into documenting such a meaningful day, they also prioritize being a steady, calming presence so you don’t have to think about what’s next. This way, you’re free to stay present, grounded, and focused on what matters most: your marriage.

Your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and your images should reflect its emotion, beauty, and significance with intention and style. What do you require for booking?
To save your date, a 25% deposit and signed contract are required. Payment plans available!
How is my gallery delivered?
The day after your wedding or engagement shoot, you'll receive sneak peeks so that you can start reminiscing right away. After that you can expect to receive your fully edited gallery in 2 weeks for engagements, and 3-6 weeks for weddings via a password-protected online gallery. Your gallery can be easily shared with family and friends, has both low-res and high-res download options, and has a built-in print shop for easy ordering.
Do you have vendor recommendations?
Absolutely - I send all of my potential couples an information packet that includes the vendors I adore working with, and trust to show up fully on your day.
My significant other and I don't love taking pictures. Can you help us pose?
Almost all of the couples you see in my photos vocalized some variation of discomfort in front of the camera. And all of that overcame it in some way, shape, or form! We take an approach that is more based in prompting than posing: this allows photos that are more specific to the way you and your partner interact, giving you more natural photos to who you are as a couple.
Do you have a second shooter?
Yes! Part of our consultation will include talking through if a second-shooter may be a valuable addition to your day.
Do you shoot film?
You got it! We can absolutely talk about it during your consultation. Digital is my main focus, but we are big fans of the moments of the day where we can slow down together and focus on getting photos with the classic aesthetic that's making a come back.
How do you backup our images?
Please ask every photographer this, not just me. For starters, Laurel and all of her associates have dual card slots, which means in the incredibly unlikely event that one of the cards doesn't read, there's a backup one already in the camera. Once your images are uploaded, they go on two separate hard drives and are backed up online and on Lightroom. No losing your wedding photos on my watch.
Are you able to photoshop certain parts of my body?
Nope. Due to the nature of my documentary-style work, we are not the best fit if you're desiring any extensive edits that include physical alterations, besides those breakouts that can sneak up on you. Laurel and the team do not believe in altering your appearance with online tools, but instead want to enhance the beauty you already inherently have.
