Let’s get to know each other...
I'm Glad You're Here. Stay A While!

"Why does it matter that we create things? Why do we need to bother with creating? Because creative projects connect communities. People to people. People to earth. And people to God. The common creative spirit placed in all of humanity is a starting point for connection, and even a returning of things fragmented into things made whole again."

Behind the Lens
I'm Laurel, a lover of imperfect people and authentic art.
Since I was little, storytelling has been a key piece of my life. I was always carrying a tiny digital camera around with me when I was younger and taking pictures of absolutely everything. Somewhere along the way, that turned into taking headshots for friends in my living room during school, then working as a dude ranch photographer in Montana... and now I'm based in New York City working full-time as a published destination wedding, portrait, and event photographer.
At the core of my work, I want to capture who you are, as if no one was watching. My desire is to create space where you can exist freely in front of the camera - truly, authentically you. Because of this, I place emphasis on developing relationships with my clients so that by the time we shoot, you feel comfortable with me and what I'm about.
If I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me checking facebook marketplace for new plants, hanging out around the New York theater scene, and asking everyone I meet what their enneagram type is.
I'm New York City-based but will travel anywhere you need (bonus points if it's Montana or Italy). So please, check out my portfolio and let's chat about how we can work together. I can't wait to meet you, and am so glad you're here.

Timelessness, Calculated
I have always considered myself a "left-brained" creative. I believe the most beautifully captured moments are at the intersection of focusing on the energy of the subject and understanding everything happening environmentally. My approach produces documentary-style imagery that captures the small, the big, and everything in between.
A Wealth of Experience
From the beaches of Costa Rica to Carnegie Hall, I have robust experience shooting under circumstances where anything can change at a moment's notice. Work with someone who's ready to anticipate anything happening, and who will keep you calm if you have to adjust!
